PROJECT DETAILS:

This project included the complete removal and replacement of a pedestrian bridge superstructure on the Norwottuck Trail in Amherst. The demolition and new bridge installation were both achieved via single picks of the entire structure. The new bridge was a combination of structural steel girders, timber floor beams and decking, rails and curb. This project was completed well ahead of schedule, and, with minimal impacts to traffic on Snell Street based on the method of demolition and construction.
